The history of the star: Alnair
It was Al Tizini’s (Arabian astronomer, first half of 16th century) Al Na’ir, the Bright One, i.e. of the Fish’s tail (Pisces Australis), when that constellation extended over the stars of our Grus (the stars in Grus were considered as part of Pisces Australis before the constellation Grus was created in the 17th century).
