Fraud charges against evangelists
- Jimmy Bakker Evangelist, founded the PTL (Praise the Lord) foundation which raked in $129 million a year at its peak. The trial for twenty-four counts of fraud and conspiracy began in late August 1989, and Bakker was sentenced to forty-five years and suffered a nervous breakdown.- SNode/Alpherg
